Installation

How
to download Disk Search Assistant
Please,

and download the latest version of Disk Search Assistant.
The

How
to install Disk Search Assistant
First
you should download Disk Search Assistant from www.disk-search.com.
Run downloaded disk-search-setup.exe file and follow instructions of setup
program.
Finishing
installation you can choose whether to run Disk Search Assistant or run
Disk Search Assistant’s usage manual.
How
to uninstall Disk Search Assistant
Select
Disk Search Assistant option in Start -> Programs menu and select
“uninstall”.
How
to backup Disk Search Assistant settings
All
the information about Disk Search Assistant settings is in Windows registry.
The key is: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\AKS-Labs\Disk Search Assistant.
Once you
want to make a backup of your system including Disk Search Assistant’s
settings, please use your favorite registry backup utility.

Important
license note:
Installing Disk Search Assistant on several computers for simultaneously usage
is allowed only for Site and World licenses.
One
registered copy of Disk Search Assistant Personal may either be used by a
single person who uses the software personally on one or more
computers, or installed on a single workstation used
non-simultaneously by multiple people, but not both.
You
may access the registered version of Disk Search Assistant through a network,
provided that you have obtained individual licenses for the software
covering all workstations that will access the software through the
network.
If
you need to install our software on another computer for using you
should purchase new license.
There
are two ways to install Disk Search Assistant on several computers.
- Install
on each computer. You
can download cmp_setup.exe file. Then copy and install that file
on each user’s machine.
- Server
installation. You can
download cmp_setup.exe file. Then install it on a single computer,
so all workstations will access the software through the network. Please note: as Disk Search Assistant keeps it’s data in windows
registry every user will have Disk Search Assistant configured in a way he
likes.
Entering
registration code. If you have Disk Search Assistant installed on several
users’ computers then the handiest way is to use reg_key.key file to
enter registration code. You will double click on this file and
registration key will be added to Windows registry. Please, contact
AKS for reg_key.key

How
to register when already using evaluation version
If
you are now trying Disk Search Assistant evaluation version and want to
register, please follow 2 steps:
1)

to select appropriate license and purchase Disk Search Assistant.
2)
Once
you have filled and submit your purchase form to our e-commerce
provider you will have order confirmation e-mails, with registration
code included.
Please
note: you will not be asked to download another version of software.
You will just activate your copy of Disk Search Assistant for unlimited usage.
How
to enter registration code
You
should copy and paste registration code into registration box of
Disk Search Assistant. Run the program, and then go to the Help menu. Select
“Enter registration code…”. Copy and paste registration code and
click OK button.
If
you using Site or World license of Disk Search Assistant and has a Compare
PDF installed on several computers, then please contact us for
reg_key.key file, which will allow to enter registration code much
faster.
How
to recover registration code in a case of computer crash
Please,
contact us using on-line contact form. Put your registration details
in message body. We need to know what is your order ID number or what
e-mail have you used to register.
